The video by Hamburg’s electro duo Moonbootica is way more memorable than the tune itself. Moon are pretty aware of this, though in their description they seemed more hopeful that the appeal would be equal parts #tune and breasts.
Sorry Moonbootica, but when you put guns, boobs and dirty hipsters in a video made of executions, necking and running from the cops, the music takes a backseat. It’s worth mentioning that while viewing “Iconic,” you’re not supposed to think too hard.
You notice with a smirk that the tongue in cheek directors gave their characters some street urchin chic haircuts and bodies a little too finely tuned for the lifestyle the boys and girls find themselves in. –Then I stop myself.
