Morning laziness is common. Maybe we haven’t had our coffee yet, we’re waking from a bad dream or we see a stressful day ahead. But if we fight our way through those days, we might go to sleep realizing that an exciting day almost never happened. Director Vincent Haycock‘s video for Calvin Harris‘ “Let’s Go” remix shows us that a great ride could be right around the corner if we just make the first push.
At the beginning of each day, we make a choice to get out of bed. Whether it’s because we’ve slept too long and get a headache that makes us stand up and take two aspirin (me on my days off), whether we have somewhere to be, bosses who will be angry at us or a plane to catch, we make the choice. We may not want the day offered to us, but we want the sum of all of those dark days and hard work to eventually equal something good.
Found in “Let’s Go” (Remix Cut) is the rare instance where we trade in our bad times for some good ones. But even with the promise of excitement ahead, we have to leave the comfort of our beds. Seen through the eyes of four fictional couples from around the world, the video takes us for a night out in Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, Los Angeles and Berlin. Their experiences vary as they go, but the theme stays constant throughout: “Let’s go.”
More than a message about getting out of bed in the morning, the globetrotting video reminds us of the energy we get when we’re sharing our adrenaline filled lives with someone else. For those of you who are happy with your significant other, you have a rare gift. I think you know what to do with it.
Kick their ass out of bed and say “Let’s go.”
