Trim and Harmonimix did the anthem this year.
“Confidence Boost” was less inviting when it first struck. Before video director Rollo Jackson got a hold of it and added the assertively personal visuals, the track was a murky, spoken word jaunt. You may notice the jumpy, poetic pace of the track as it relates to Trim‘s usual grime cadence.
James Blake‘s production under the pseudonym Harmonimix brings the proper sunrise to the track. Once you hear the subject matter, you’ll see why those sparkly injections were important to the weight of “Confidence Boost.”
