Stray‘s foray into downtempo bass music is a potent dose of romantic melancholy.
Normally the Leeds UK man does faster tempo drum ‘n bass; refer to the track’s b-side “Contact” for progressive, murky twists on English d’n'b tradition. He’s also the first artist to have a release on legendary London duo Blu Mar Ten‘s own label. But I learned all this just five minutes ago.

When I first heard Stray‘s “Follow You Around” I was dazed by the synths and how well they matched the footage he chose. I didn’t yet know which film it was as I watched a man and woman wistfully floating around Paris, sucking each others’ necks and displaying the simple beauties of French film. A few minutes later, I snapped out of it.
Cheers to daydreaming.
