It was luck that this track found me. I’ve had trouble waking up lately. I’m suspicious of this alarm clock. Holup, let me get my bearings.
You’ve met Wheez-ie, haven’t you? The former Boston resident has been a solid fixture in our posts and mixes since we discovered “What U Want” almost a year ago. He lives at home in Houston, but in one classy swoop, Wheez nodded big to his three years in Boston by contributing to local blog Beantown Boogiedown‘s recent benefit CD for One Fund Boston.
We’ve covered benefit CDs before. However, we never waver in our quality control, and this charity hits too close to home for me to be unbiased.
(If you want to know how we approached it) the fastest way to find new music is an open mind, so we urge you to check the technique of the Boston talent in Always My City, which naturally includes the Asthmatic Avenger himself.
At track 38, “Holup” is the culminating shout and the best pose to flex. An unrelenting party, Wheez-ie bum-rushes the club with sub kicks at 160bpm, a persuasive “Get your ass up on the floor” sample and the consistently rave atmosphere we have come to know from the footwork/juke proficient producer.
Holup Beekeepers, I’m writing reviews for you and I haven’t even had my coffee.
“You snooze you lose.”
