It’s the only way to travel. When your car is a burden, the train barely takes you out of the city and you begin to resent every plane flying overhead, you descend into the internet instead. You find Mike Gao. You find Go Yama. And they give you something to experience. Something with sun.
I found “Younger” because of these two beat-centric producers, a glowing Seinabo Sey original that Gao & Go flipped into a denser, less sane, more motivating theme song for those who prefer the extra potency.
Mike Gao was briefly in Boston performing with fellow San Diegan (but Boston based) Go Yama and they captured that rare moment in this flip! Furthermore, GoYama’s laptop recently got stolen!! So, producers everywhere scrambled into action, posting tracks to raise money “ForYama.” This track was part of that effort, and as Lifted Contingency said, it’s the most badass conclusion to the story possible.
They tweaked the vocals occasionally, adding filters for twang and [mysterious magic] to build a monstrous bass breakdown. Man, this thing burrows. And listen to the stabby, off-kilter bounce of that kick drum.
No, seriously, @MIKEGAO is out of his mind. Wouldn't have it any other way.
